my love language is silence,
scavenging for it in the darkest depths
until our knees are muddy and wet

in an effort to not forget,
my thoughts play on repeat, loudly
they spin stories out of thin air,
sprouting emotions i never wanted to have,
emotions that begin from a fake place
but feel real — too real,
