FX’s The Bear is the MVP of Summer TV
The second serving of FX’s The Bear may be the best yet.

We’re in the golden age of television and FX’s The Bear is a damn sparkly nugget, with rockstar performances, eye-catching cinematography, and so-stressful-its-funny humor.
The Bear’s second season puts its ensemble cast on a pedestal, often dedicating singular 40-minute episodes to the development of one character. Just as the restaurant is under development, its cast is growing and evolving along with it, if not more so.
All around the season, there are invigorating performances backed by solid writing. My favorite is actor Ebon Moss-Bachrach’s portrayal of “Richie”, his inspiring character arc being one of the many reasons that the second season of The Bear is a must-watch.
The only thing I wished was different was The Bear’s release schedule. All episodes were released at once on Hulu, but this show would benefit from a traditional weekly release. The episodes deserved space, time to chew on its script and argue about ships on Twitter.
Despite when the next hot summer show will wash The Bear away from the cultural zeitgeist, it’s worth not only adding to your watch list but becoming appointment television.
The Bear is currently streaming on FX.
