I haven’t been doing a great job of prioritizing my artistic endeavors amidst my busy life. I’ve got a job, a social life, a relationship, a family, and a chronic illness. Sometimes niggas be tired.

Listening to Childish Gambino’s new album Bando Stone & the New World sparked my often languid sense of inspiration, reminding me that those artistic instincts are still there.

I’ma keep it a buck fifty with you. This shit is that good.

I often daydreamed while listening to the album. With its purpose as a film soundtrack, it fed my daydreams nicely.

I had many ideas, including one for a zine. It combined my love for cinema with my growing interest in collaging. It’s coming soon.

I’m not surprised I had such a visceral reaction to this album. I’m more grateful, especially knowing this is Childish Gambino’s last hurrah.

I first listened to Childish Gambino in high school, captivated by Camp’s “Heartbeat”.
